[We believe this work] shows our ongoing attempts to develop an alternative to the conventional educational method of extracting projects from a set of 'problems' relating to programme and locality. Instead, we have sought to privilege considerations of cultural context and formal principles. Architectural education is in an impasse we urgently need to overcome. Only if we bring back our shared knowledge about the culture of architecture and abandon the commonplaces and false truths of the modernist educational model, will we find tools capable of dealing with our current society.
In a world of rapid change the new tools might even look surprisingly like the old ones.
